SV Zoo Park, Tirupathy, India

BANS Chittoor a big disappointment. It fakes of Rain dance, wavepool, Water-rides while there's nothing in totality.

26 Feb, 2012: Our plan was only to go Chittoor and return back by evening. We had even called the reception at BANS earlier to ask whether the pool was working. They said they had rides and all working. Later, we realized there were no rides. The only wave-pool present there was non functional. We didn't want to feel regretted; after all we had wasted much of our time in getting permission to go outside hostel for a day. Suddenly it sparked me that I had the power of GOOGLE in my hand. I took my GALAXY and started looking for attractions nearby our location. We found a Zoo cum national park in Tirupathy 64 km in north-east from our current location, BANS Chittoor. We took an auto to Chittoor Bus stand and a bus there-from to Tirupathy. After one and half hours of journey we reached Tirupathy. At SV Zoo park: Rs 15 ticket per person + Camera - Rs75. Once we entered the park, we started feeling delighted. The very first animal we saw was a tall necked Giraffe. Having never seen a Giraffe before I was fascinated by its long neck and pattern. The rest of the day went in fun and taking photos both of us and the animals.

The Sri Venkateswara ZOo park is great and must visit if you reach Tirupathy. For people near Vellore/Katpadi, it is suggested to visit SV Zoo park rather than BANS Chittoor, Amirthi Forest or Yelagiri. It a nice place to have picnic and fun in the group. Here are the photos from our trip:
